Due to all the changes in the solar tax credits and grants made since June of 2025, PSEA has revised its Solar Schools Toolkit to incorporate the new information. We've also created a new version, the Solar Toolkit for Nonprofits. The Model Request for Proposal has been updated. Both Proformas have been improved to make them even more robust.
We are making these resources available to download to all schools, nonprofits and municipal governments to assist them in their efforts to go solar and save.
The Philadelphia Solar Energy Association (PSEA) hosted 3 webinars to dive into different aspects of the Solar Schools Toolkit.
Here are the recordings and slides for each. Enjoy!

Solar schools for Pennsylvania
Repowering education with clean energy
Solar power is a big part of the solution to Pennsylvania’s energy challenges – producing clean, affordable electricity right in the communities we call home.
The rooftops of Pennsylvania’s roughly 5,000 schools are often flat and unshaded, making them excellent sites for solar panels. The potential is huge – pre-K through 12th grade educational buildings in Pennsylvania have nearly 2,000 football fields’ worth of rooftop space that could be suitable for solar.
