Lightning Strikes in PA !! Governor Shapiro Urges Action on Energy

The plan has a number of key components:

  1. Reform the PA Edge Program to increase flexibility and provide tax credits for manufacturing,

    e.g., sustainable Jet fuel and methane digesters

  2. Streamline PA’s siting process – Create one central siting board: RESET

  3. Act 129 - update the state’s Energy Efficiency program, now almost 20 years old

  4. Community Energy Proposal – Amend HB1824 to add geothermal and biogas

  5. PRESS – Amend the Alternative Energy Portfolio Standard to require electric utilities to get to at least 35% renewable energy by 2035.

  6. PACER – Cap and Invest – Similar to RGGI, but PA specific
